The experience

C2C is an opportunity to test you, your friends and colleagues together with riders from the UK property sector in a 6-day cycle endurance event from London to Cannes. Ride as if you are a pro with rolling road closures, support vehicles and mechanics over 6 days and 1500km of tarmac.

You will ride in one of three groups, as a relay with lead cars, support vans, mechanics and motorbikes. Support vehicles will never be far away and a Sweeper Van will be able to pick up the riders who need a break. Since the inaugural ride in 2006 there have been many C2C riders who have surprised themselves with their ability to battle the long miles in the saddle. The camaraderie developed in attaining these personal achievements by everyone in the peloton reaching the finish in Cannes increases the cycling passion and means you have made cycling buddies for life. The event is known for its friendly, sociable atmosphere whilst enjoying the challenge and competition.

As you complete the challenge, you will also be helping support our designated charities: LandAid, Tom's Trust, The Sarah Matheson Trust, Article 25 and The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, as well as other charities added at the discretion of the Trustees of C2C.

A rolling road closure will operate from London to Cannes. We depart on Thursday 11 March from Greenwich with a motor cycle escort provided by the National Escort Group. When not working with us you can find them providing the same support for the Tour of Britain. Once in France, Alain Cordier, Commissaire France, who will provide a team of highly experienced French outriders and a rolling road closure as we cycle south to the Mediterranean.

Mechanics Nigel Hill and Graham Freestone King, alongside therapists from SMART will ensure you and your bike work as one and get to that finish line in Cannes.

C2C is an endurance sport and designed for fit commuter riders as well as hardened roadies. We will be cycling at an average speed of 15-17mph in pelotons of approximately 30 people each. The relay, made up of three pelotons, will each ride up to 120 km a day over two sessions. Each rider cycles a minimum of 500km over the 6 days – more ambitious riders can join more than one peloton and we may have some riders looking for a real challenge hoping to “Go the Whole Distance”.

A baton will be carried continuously by the team leaders for the entire distance to Cannes and presented to Boris Johnson (tbc) on our arrival at the Palais des Festivals.
