Rules and regulations
- The rider must be 18 years or over on the start day of the event (06.03.08).
Safety approved cycling helmets need to be worn for the duration of the event by all riders.
- It is the rider’s obligation to familarise him / herself with the event itinerary. The event will not be delayed in the event of a rider failing to present him / herself at the appropriate time.
- A Broom Wagon will be available for any rider requiring a rest. If for reasons of safety or the smooth running of the event you are requested to take a ride in the Broom Wagon, you must comply. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
- You may not pass the lead vehicle at ANY time.
- You will strictly adhere to group riding etiquette and not endanger your fellow riders.
Riders should seek medical advice if they are unsure about their fitness level, have any medical or health concern.
- Riders will ensure that they are fit for the start of the event.
- Riders bikes must have Identification Numbers provided, displayed at all times during the event.
- You must inform the event organisers if you feel unwell.
- Only road bikes are permitted for the event. No time trial bars will be permitted.
- The rider’s bike will be in safe working order for the start of event.
- You may not deviate from the official route.
- You are to obey the local traffic regulations, traffic officers and authorised marshals at all times.
- You may not use your mobile while riding. You must stop at the side of the road if you need to make or receive a call.
- You may not use a stereo headset or ipod whilst riding.
- The Tour will take place regardless of bad weather and will only be cancelled, re-routed or stopped for reasons of safety. Entry fees are not refundable, however.
